Hello everyone. It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our special guest of the day Mr. Asher Dreyden. For those of you that haven't heard of Asher, his recent rise to fame happened after a book about his life was published. The book is titled His Fated Mate and in it, the author explores the trials and tribulations that Asher and his mate Devina face while searching for happiness together.
Priscilla Danita: Asher Thank you so much for stopping by today. For the audience members that don't know you are a wolf shifter. Can you explain what that means? A wolf shifter is a person that is equal parts human and wolf. We are born this way which is the major difference between a shifter and a werewolf. Both are able to make a change from animal to man and back again. When I am in human form I can sense my wolf and vice verse.
Priscilla Danita: The book mentions your less than perfect childhood. Is that something that all male shifters go through? Thankfully this isn't normal practice and growing up in a wolf pack is usually filled with love and companionship. Wolves both natural animals and those of us who can shifter between forms are social. In my case, I was the first twin born to an alpha. That is something that should have placed me first in line to become alpha but compared to my younger brother I was the runt of the bunch. That combined with a power hungry sibling resulted in my abuse and ultimate banishment from the pack.
Priscilla Danita: Banishment must have been hard. What gave you the strengh to go on? It was hard and made difficult due to the fact that I had been beaten and left for dead before banishment. The people that had been responsible were also my motivation to fight. I refused to let them win so with the help of my wolf and years to recover I finally was able to make a home in the banishment zone. Everything that I have is mine, separate from the old pack and it was an amazing feeling to have.
Priscilla Danita: Speaking of what's yours I understand that you recently found your mate and claimed her. Tell us a little bit about that? Claiming is a bond between a wolf and their mate. It's something like a marriage expect it's a magical bond that can only be broken in death. After being banished I thought my chance at true love and happiness were gone until I was out on a run and literally ran into my mate. My wolf know she was ours the moment we saw her and he screamed MATE inside my head. Like everything else in my life nothing was easy not even claiming my mate. For one thing, Devina is human and knew nothing about my world. We also were both trying to make peace with a past that decided it wanted to be taking with us in the future.
Priscilla Danita: You seem happy now so I take it you were able to figure things out with your mate? Yes, it was a long road to redemption and there was a time when I thought that the wolf goddess had made a mistake with my life. But the truth is all the things that we went through was for a reason even if we didn't understand them at the time.
Priscilla Danita: What was the reason that you found? For me, it was about learning to trust again. It's weird because one would think I would have never had trust issues if my past had been different but at the same time, I would have never learned to truly identify who I could trust. I'm not just talking about trust of others but also trust in myself. When all I had was me and my wolf I learned quickly just where my personal short comings were. I build my cabin with my own hands and paws, I learned how to provide for myself, I learned how to trust myself and identify qualities to trust others.
Priscilla Danita: Last question, what made you agree to have the book written. When you agreed to the interview your only request was that I use a photo of you in wolf form to protect your identity and yet you have a book on your life? The book, while is about my life and the life of my mate on the surface, is much more than that if you look deeper. Through our story, we hoped that anyone battling obstacles even ones with themselves knows that it can get better. I was beaten, betrayed and banished but I also survived and learned to thrive. My mate grew up in an asylum lacking love and the chance to be a child and later an adult but she overcame the labels that were placed on her with determination, strength and courage.
Priscilla Danita: Thank you so much, Asher, for being here with us today and for your tale of strength and love. I wish you and your family nothing but continued happiness.
