The Decadence After Dark Series is Dark Erotica written by M. Nevers. There are currently 5 books released. I will be reviewing the first 3 as they are all focused on the same chacarters Kayne and Ellie. I was really excited when I found these books because I was looking for a new series and something that I wouldn't have to wait for books to be released. Another plus is that all the books are currently available for kindle unlimited.
The first book in the series is Owned. This is where we meet Kayne and Ellie. This started off really sweet and corky then all of a sudden there was nothing sweet about. Here's the thing, the author is truly writing dark erotica. This is one of the books that comes with a warning and it is one hundred precent needed. It wasn't just that it was a BDSM read, it was because it stripped away everything until there shouldn't be anything left. As much as I felt like I should hate Kayne and everything thing that was happening I couldn't look away. There was something about it that pulled me in. The how things where happening or the why things were happening didn't matter because they were happening and in that moment they were good. I feel wrong for saying I enjoyed the book because it feels wrong to enjoy reading about someone's self being stolen from them. It felt like I was reading Ellie get Ellie stolen from herself. It was more than her pyhiscal self it was all of her.
I give this book 5 stars. I would not recommend this book to anyone that is offended easy, has issues with sex slaves or focused sex. I will say that not all things are what the seem even if some things you can't get past the sight being seen. This book isn't all about the sex though. I really loved Jett a supporting character, I loved the non sexual volence as much as I loved the sexual and that there were bad guys to crush that helped carry the plot. Add in a little drama and a dash of humor and you have the receipe for a great read.

The next book in the series is Claimed. It was almost like the author knew that Owned was going to make me wonder if there was something wrong with me. Or maybe the writing was just so good that I couldn't help but feel the emotions of Ellie. Either way Claimed made me feel like enjoying what happened in the first book was okay. This whole book was about Ellie coming to terms with what Kayne did to her as well as realizing what she wanted out of life. I didn't find this book to be as dark as the first but it kept the heat factor turned all the way up. Like the first book this one is a BDSM read and also has a good storyline that is moved along with great supporting characters, bad guys, drama and a few laughs.
I give this book 5 stars. I recommend this book after the first because it gives you a better understanding at the why things happened in the first book which gives you a better understanding of how the characters are able to move on. This book also does a great job of giving a deeper understanding of the characters.

The last book that is centered about Kayne and Ellie is Ruined: An Epilogue The first book could be considered the storm, the second the aftermath of the storm making this one the calm after the storm. I enjoyed this one but not as much as the first two. Ruined had just as much heat as the first two but alll the drama was internal between the characters. There wasn't a bad guy, no one to track down and take down. I didn't even realize how much I enjoyed that part of the first two books until I didn't have it in this one. Thankfully this one has everything else that the other books had so I was still able to enjoy it. Plus who can really not like when an author takes the time to give you a book worth as an epilogue instead of a page or two.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. This book wasn't really dark but it was still an exoctic story. You would need to read the other two books to truly get why this one was so special. It would be pointless to have the ever after without understanding what brought it about. I would recommend reading this book because it's great to have closure after everything that has happened.
