Just Tryin' To Be Loved is a story about heartbreak, loyalty and love. It tells the story of Mark and the things that he goes through to not only find love but to accept it.
This is a great well rounded read. Mark isn't just a man looking for love. He is a man that is trying to move on from a painful past. His experiences growing up shaped him, his rejections strengthen him but his determination made him. Then there was Jared and I must say that I loved his character. He is so sweet and the things that he does makes me smile. He also is trying to move on from a hard past. Jared made this a true romance and I loved his patience, sense of humor, and protective instinct. I think Jared was my favorite character however there are many different characters/personalities to give this book a realistic feel. The author was able to create a book that translated emotions ,such as pain, sorrow, happiness and love, through its pages. There are also some did that just happen moments in this book that kept the flow, build up and climax amazing. There are side stories that not only connect things but kept the book interesting.
I give this book 5 stars. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a urban romance that has layers of comedy while shedding light on serious issues. I also should point out that this book is a LGBT read focusing on M/M. While some issues in this book are issues only faced in the LGBT community I also felt that a lot of what happened can happen to anyone.
